The Devil's Bed

The Devil's Bed - William Kent Krueger The writing was simplistic and passive, the story was really two stories with a lagging section in the middle that barely connected it, and the more interesting half (the second half) got barely enough page time to count. They spent more time blathering on about Moses and his oh-so-dark-and-twisted life than they did about the actual political intrigue that I was interested in to begin with. Yeah, I'm sure all that was terrible for him, but...I'm a reader, and I've seen it all before. Give me something with a god damn puzzle, not just a bunch of scenes meant to shock me in the same way I've been "shocked" by every other medium out there.
